Fernando Miceli & Band - Tango de Raíz
With the release of his new CD "Tango de Raiz" makes the singer-songwriter Fernando Miceli from Buenos Aires a new step towards the diffusion of the currently tango trend which expands continuously all over the world. His songs - music and text are on his own - have a very personal note beyond the classical tango standards. The stories told are alive and could take place both in Buenos Aires and in any big city on earth. On "Tango de Raíz" you will find reflective tango-ballads, rhythmic tangos as well as ecstatic candombes. On each song you can perceive the approach to different musical styles. For example you find a cuban feeling on the candombes, in "Rot und Schwarz" - with german lyric - the influence of the german chanson from the 20ies. Miceli commited for the recordings and arrangements two excellent musicians from Buenos Aires: Pablo Woizinski (piano) and César Nigro (guitar), members of the duo "El Tropezón" and also of the "Sexteto Stazo Mayor", the very appreciated band of the legendary bandoneonist Luis Stazo. In addition participated at the recordings recognised musicians from the german latin scene like the percussionist and singer Ricardo Moreno and the bassist Marco "El Tunero" Estrada ("Sonido Tres") from Cuba and last but not least the well appreciated bandoneonist Guillermo Destaillats. Fernando Miceli creates a tango music of a subtil and innovative nature, preserving at the same time the soul, the rawness and the sincerity of tango. Experience this modern bridge to the roots!
